Finally - what everyone's been waiting for

John Robert Walters was born Thursday September 2nd at 2:23am. After a nice long labor, it was so amazing to finally meet the little man that has been growing inside me.
Little Johnny weighed in at 8 lbs. 11.5 oz. and 21 inches long.
It really is a miracle to think about how that big boy was able to fit and come out of me.

Straight away he was holding his head up and trying to look around, pushing with his feet on whatever he could just to scoot and move on his stomach.

Contrary to what we were told in the hospital, his belly button feel off after only 5 days. Dad and I were concerned, but when we went for his check up at the doctors they said it looked great.

7 Days to go and counting...

So according to our estimated due date, next Wednesday (8/25)is the big day.
As of now I'm not sure that will actually happen, I still am holding to the original due date of September 2nd, but who knows. Apparently a lot can happen between now and then.
All check-ups have been good and he still moves around quite a bit. I'm hoping next week if I'm still not showing any progress they will do an ultrasound so maybe we can see how big he is.
Just getting a little anxious to meet the little guy. =)

Baby Shower 7.31.2010

Tina, Lisa, Mom and Kristy threw us a wonderful baby shower at our house on Saturday.
We had a total of 38 people show up...I couldn't believe it.
It was so nice to have our family, friends and neighbors all meet for the first time, and all in celebration of little "bubba".
I need to get photos of these ones too, but here are a few with John, Kristy, Mom and Rigo after the party.

Mom, Kristy and Rigo come to visit

Mom and Kristy drove all the way from California to come out for the baby shower...I wasn't sure they'd make it without going crazy, and there were some crazy phone calls - but I think that was from all the Rock Star cola and sugary snacks.

However - I was completely surprised when they showed up with Rigo in the car too!
What a wonderful added surprise to already being excited to see Kristy and Mom.

I'll have to get some photos from Mom, Kristy or Rigo's camera to post.

Everything is growing well....

Sweet potatoes, bell peppers, collard greens, cauliflower, bush beans, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini and a purple heirloom tomato.
